Design Communication is the quest to tell better stories. The primary motive of this discipline is to inform, inspire and persuade the audience. To keep them engaged in the content long enough to make a lasting impression. Whether I'm designing a series of corporate documents for a small business or helping a client write a brand manifesto, design communication strives to conjure the greatest emotional impact.

Graphic Design — Inspire and Engage
In graphic design, communication happens through form and figure, color, composition, and typography. Each graphical element is a “word”, such as the color of a shape. The color palette becomes a “sentence”. How those colors are woven together throughout the design becomes a “paragraph”. These paragraphs communicate meaning in the design.

Architectural Design — Hierarchy and Interactions Between Building Elements
In architectural design, communication happens through the built environment and visual elements, but additionally through the progressions of user experiences and interactions with those elements. Spatial and informational hierarchy creates a sense of primary actions or things the user should pay attention to. Material effects and other elements, such as the use of voids or shapes, communicate that something should be touched or interacted with. Light and shadow communicates how different interactive elements in the building environment interface or relate to one another.
